Kick-off the week of the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day with this event. Join us for light refreshments and morning of conversation with dedicated local experts about the state of plastic recycling and creative solutions used to reduce the amount of material entering landfills in New Mexico. Learn how other areas are responding to the plastic waste crisis, and what can be done locally.
Speakers: Sarah Pierpont, Executive Director of the New Mexico Recycling Coalition, Jill Holbert, Associate Director City of ABQ Solid Waste Management Department, Rachel Zulevi, a “zero-waste lifestyle, and Jonathan Black, a Senior Policy Advisor for U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) on energy and environmental issues.
Cost: $8 ($7 for members, $5 for students) includes museum admission (including the exhibit Sayaka Ganz: Reclaimed Creations and refreshments. Preregistration required. Seats are limited. (NOTE that the starting time is earlier than other Curator’s Coffees)
