Big Read Gallery Talk and Tour

The New Mexico Museum of Art Library is proud to partner with the Santa Fe Public Library to offer this program as part of the 2022 Big Read.  Supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Big Read is a commmunity-wide reading programs centered on one book. This year’s program encourages Santa Feans to read the 2019 novel There There by Tommy Orange, a story that follows 12 contemporary characters from Native communities all making their way to the Big Oakland Powwow. The New Mexico Museum of Art will host a Gallery Talk and Tour on Sunday, October 2 exploring themes from the novel such as the historic representation of Indigenous people in popular culture.

This event begins at 12:30 PM and is FREE to attend for NM residents.
