NM Museum of Natural History & Science to host Planetarium show highlighting Southwest wonders

Albuquerque, NM- Join us at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (NMMNHS) Planetarium for an extraordinary aerial presentation of the natural beauty in New Mexico and the surrounding area on May 26. NMMNHS presents “Over New Mexico and the Southwest- Part 1.”

Who: Jeff Gilkey is an ultralight pilot who has logged over 2100 hours in his Aerotrike Cobra on cross-country adventures into nearly every corner of New Mexico, with many trips extending into Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and Texas. A few years ago, Jeff mounted a GoPro Fusion 360 camera on the wingtip of his trike to capture these remote landscapes.
What: In collaboration with NMMNHS planetarium staff, Jeff has created the ultimate aerial tour, revealing the wild and obscure scenic wonders of New Mexico and the Southwest: Shiprock, the Grand Canyon, secret ruins of the Rio Puerco Valley, and much more.
Where: The Planetarium at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science, at 1801 Mountain Rd NW.
When: One-hour lectures will be held at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 26.
