The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science is participating in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Saturday April 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Museum. Take-Back Day is a safe and convenient way to dispose of prescription drugs. The event gives the community a chance to properly dispose of expired and unused prescription medications.

“There are several local venues participating in Drug Take-Back Day,” said Margie Marino, Executive Director of the museum. “The drop-off site at the Museum of Natural History is the only location in town where you can see an exhibition about the heinous impact drug abuse has on our society. “

Drugs: Costs & Consequences is a traveling exhibition from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Museum and the DEA Education Foundation. Formerly known as Target America, the exhibition has traveled to 16 cities and has been viewed by more than 22 million visitors. The exhibit is currently on display daily in Albuquerque through the fall.
