From Plants to Pills: The Evolution of the Antidepressant 2018-2019 Lecture Series “The Brain: It’s More than you Think”

Our earliest human ancestors recognized plants that altered their state of being when consumed. The legacy of medicinal drug consumption continues to this present day–although in a slightly different form.

Dr. Daniel Barto is a researcher at the UNM Health Sciences Center in the Department of Neuropathology. He earned his B.A. at the Univ. of Chicago and M.Ed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and PhD at the UNM in Psychology.
