Acoma Pueblo Treasures Tour

Take a day-long insider’s tour of Acoma Pueblo and the Sky City Cultural Center & Haak’u Museum.

Enroute by bus to Acoma, David Rasch, Chief of the Historic Preservation Division, City of Santa Fe, and a noted collector, will set the stage for our visit by sharing his extensive knowledge of Acoma Pottery. Upon arrival, Barbara Felix, architect of the Cultural Center complex, will team with Acoma tribal members and Acoma pottery experts to guide us on a behind the scenes exploration of this cultural showcase.

After lunch provided by Y’aak’a Café, Brian Vallo, Director, Indian Arts Research Center, School for Advanced Research, will share his knowledge as a tribal member and former lieutenant governor of the Pueblo as he leads a tour of “Sky City”, including a visit with a leading Acoma pottery artisan.

Along the way, we will learn of Acoma’s centuries’ old heritage and of the ongoing partnership between Acoma Pueblo and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Fee includes roundtrip bus transportation, lunch, and tour fees. Tour is limited
