date_range June 8, 2012
location_on 113 Lincoln Avenue
Santa Fe, NM 87501 United States
schedule 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join painter and calligrapher Laurie Doctor for an illustrated lecture, “Landscape and Memory,” at 6 pm on Friday, June 8, in the History  Museum Auditorium. The event, part of the programming for Illuminating the Word: The Saint John’s Bible is free.

In her talk, Doctor will explore the profound connection between a sense of place and creation. What moves us to make a mark or to leave a trace? Calling on examples from the Greek to Chauvet cave paintings, from Chinese calligraphy to Ghost Ranch, Doctor will present a tour of the creative pattern and how it connects with place and memory and ignites our imagination and reflection.
