A member of the Jemez Sun Clan, Alvina Yepa started helping her mother paint and polish pots at 8 years old. Along the way, she learned traditional pottery techniques from her mother. In 1986, she began entering her work in shows and has garnered 16 awards from SWAIA’s Indian Market alone, in addition to prizes at the Heard, and other renowned markets.
