Opening Reception Local Color: Judy Chicago in New Mexico 1984-2014

Like many artists before her, Judy Chicago has made New Mexico her home.  Local Color focuses on both large public projects and smaller scale personal artworks made here in New Mexico, and is among the first exhibitions to focus on Judy’s recent work.  Never one to pull back from controversial discussion, Chicago’s work addresses the complexity of gender, injustice, inequality, the atrocities of war and the enviromental costs of nuclear dependence.
