This exhibition considers the development of Santa Fe as an art colony through the artists who visited and lived here and helped establish the city as an artistic center, in the formative years from approximately 1915 to 1940. Exhibition organized by Boca Raton Museum of Art. Through July 27, 2014. Free admission 5-8pm.
Free admission. Rangers will lead a hike up Oak Canyon (a.k.a. Church Canyon). This is a strenuous hike over rough terrain (approximately 1.5 miles)—hikers should bring water, sturdy shoes, sunscreen and a sack lunch. Friends of Coronado Historic Site Lecture Series present: Alex Sedillos.Lectures held at 2:00pm at Coronado Historic Site. Lectures are free for Friends organization members and $5 for guests. Come early because seating is limited, and per the Fire Marshal no one will be admitted after the limit is reached.
The 5th grade classes of local schools will spend the day in Lincoln taking a tour and then participating in writing, technology and art exercises. Teachers will use lesson plans developed last summer. Students will bring home their writing and art work. More information may be obtained by calling (575) 653-4372.

Photo Archivist Daniel Kosharek, co-curator of the new exhibit Poetics of Light: Pinhole Photography, leads a casual walk through the gallery at 6 pm. Enjoy the many images and inventive cameras and learn more about how this comparatively primitive process has delighted photographers for generations. The museum is free from 5 to 8 pm.
Free admission from 5 to 8 pm every Friday, May through October. Come enjoy the exhibits, special events, and head out to dinner with the money you saved.
