NHCC Hosts Second Virtual ‘Our Fair New Mexico’ Concert featuring Oti Ruiz with Leticia Cuevas

The second concert in the virtual series Our Fair New Mexico sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs features musician Otilio Ruiz, and is hosted by the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The online concert is Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m.  Ruiz, who has been playing music since the age of 13, studied at the Music Conservatory in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, and is a former member of the international companies Tlen-Huicani, at the University of Veracruz, and Achille-Zavata, based in Paris.

Ruiz currently teaches at Albuquerque Public Schools and is the musical director of La Rondalla de Alburquerque. His family is working together to bring jarocho music from Veracruz, Mexico, to new generations.
