Sylvanus Paul is a Dine’ (Navajo) graduate from Pine Hills Schools on the Ramah Navajo Reservation. His traditional way of introducing himself is by first introducing his Dine’ clans, which are Tse’ ’naabilnii (Sleeping Rock Clan), born for the To’diichi’nii (Bitter Water Clan).
He works for the School of Advanced Research (SAR) in the Indian Arts Research Center (IARC). At SAR, Sylvanus works with the Southwest Native Textiles, where his knowledge in Dine’ Studies and Southwest history, as well as Native American Studies, benefits the care and interpretation of the collections.
