Scheduled events at the John Gaw Meem Auditorium at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, Museum Hill, 710 Camino Lejo:

12:00 pm – Opening remarks by IARC Director Cynthia Chavez Lamar with reception following. 

1:00 pm to 2:00 pm – Panel Discussion, The Original Six: Art, Gender, and Community

Gloria Emerson, Erica Lord, Felice Lucero, Sherry Farrell Racette, Diane Reyna, and Eliza Naranjo Morse discuss the works they created out of their meetings and continue their discussion about art, gender, and community.

3:00 pm to 4:00 pm – Panel Discussion, Another Five: Becoming

Three months after the original six artists met, each brought with them a new and promising artist, creating the group of eleven that exists today. Hear about how Lara Evans, TahNibaa Naataanii, Shannon Letandre, Heidi Brandow, and Dyani Reynolds-White Hawk were affected by these meetings and how issues of art, gender, and community shape their work.

All events are free. Visitors are free to wander through the exhibit at any time during the program.

This event is presented by the Indian Arts Research Center at the School for Advanced Research in partnership with the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture
