New Mexico Arts announces DezBaa’ and David Henderson as artists-in-residence at the Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site

New Mexico Arts and New Mexico Historic Sites announce DezBaa’ and her father David Henderson for the first artist residency at the Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site. Their residency runs until May 6, and at its conclusion, they will premiere a documentary featuring David’s journey of self-discovery, as well as a series of interviews with Memorial staff, historians, medicine people, and more.

Poetry Out Loud state champion will represent New Mexico in Washington, D.C.

Rutendo Musharu, a senior at United World College-USA High School in Montezuma, was named the 2023 New Mexico Poetry Out Loud champion. Robin Blakeman, a sophomore at the Public Academy for the Performing Arts, Albuquerque, was also named as the 2023 runner up. In May, Musharu will represent New Mexico in the Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest in Washington, D.C.

Friends of Folk Art and Museum of International Folk Art present 12th annual Folk Art Flea Saturday, May 6, 2023

Museum of International Folk Art (MOIFA) presents the 12th annual Folk Art Flea Saturday, May 6 at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds. Admission to the event is free, and sales benefit the educational programs and exhibitions of MOFIA. Although admission is free, members of Friends of Folk Art (FOFA) enjoy early-bird admission to the Flea from 9-10 a.m. Public admission is from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
