SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) has announced that active New Mexico CulturePasses will be extended the amount of days all state museums and historic sites are closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In-person visits to DCA institutions have been suspended since March 16, after Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a directive that state agencies make adjustments to their operations in the wake of the novel coronavirus public health emergency.

No date has been set as to when state museum and historic site buildings will re-open to the public.

In the meantime, state residents are encouraged to check out the DCA’s main website at NMCulture.org. There, visitors can experience a variety of online resources, activities, and exhibitions from the 15 state museums and historic sites as well as the New Mexico State Library, New Mexico Arts, Historic Preservation Division, and Office of Archaeological Studies.

The New Mexico CulturePass is validated when first used at one of the state museums or historic sites and is typically active for 12 months. The pass allows for one general admission entrance to each state museum and historic site.

The New Mexico CulturePass costs $30 and can be purchased at any state museum or historic site, or by calling 505-476-1125.
