The Circles will travel overseas to the Iberian Peninsula this fall, in conjunction with the Fractured Faiths exhibition opening in May at the New Mexico History Museum. Museum Director Andrew Wulf will be our travel companion. Our first stop is Madrid, Spain, for three days visiting world-renowned museums, cultural attractions and private art collections, including a one-day excursion to Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll spend three nights at the five-star Villa Manga and enjoy exquisite cuisine and a special flamenco performance. On day four, we travel to Lisbon, Portugal, spending two days in the capital city discovering the country’s artistic and cultural heritage. Day trips will then take us north to Sintra, Cascais, and the walled city of Obidos, and south to Evora and the famous rug makers of Arraiolos. The Four Seasons Ritz Carlton will be our luxurious accommodations for all six nights in Lisbon, with one night devoted to traditional fado music and a second night to a special dine-around featuring six of the finest eating establishments in the city.
