Zarina Kenjaeva is a master artisan of embroidered Suzani textiles who began exhibiting her work at the International Folk Art Market in 2005. Her Suzani’s are made from silk yarns dyed in her family’s Carpet Weaving Training School in Bukhara. During this workshop she will demonstrate traditional Uzbek suzani embroidery including drawing and hand stitching. Participants will learn a variety of Suzani stitches with materials from a kit provided. 10:00am-4:00pm, Zocalo Community Room. Cost: workshop and kit $90. Space is limited!
