Description: Huichol glass bead earrings made with a finger-weaving technique are decorated with a nierika symbol, which represents the face of the sun. They are protective amulets worn by men and women alike. Blue and white—representing water and clouds—were the traditional colors of the Huichol during the 1930s. Tuxpan de Bolaños, ca. 1934.
